To answer some questions I've received via email this morning and on a continued basis regarding a few articles which have surfaced over the past few weeks, I wish to address the article which appeared in The London Paper this morning. The paper is reporting "as breaking news" that EQUUS is closing in June in a "surprising" move. Many other news outlets are also reporting the plays end. First, please realize that we've said all along that Dan's involvement with the play was only scheduled through 9th June so this is NOT a surprising move where Dan is concerned even though the article's title is "sensationalized" by using the word "Potter." The article also reports future plans for the play beyond Dan's involvement and also credits Dan's "adoring" fans for the continued "sell-outs." Other news reported today states that Dan will be reprising his role of Alan Strang in EQUUS in 2008 on Broadway. Again, unless Dan IS involved in any future plans, (and to date nothing has been confirmed for us) any Equus related news which deems verification or confirmation would not be our responsibility. This would include your questions relating to other actors "replacing" Dan. Should we learn more, or be privied to any new information which regards further participation on Dan's part in future plans for the play, we will certainly let you know. But for now, please regard Dan related Equus news beyond 9th June as hearsay. UPDATED: After speaking with Dan's Publicist just now, our information above is confirmed as accurate for now. Dan will be finishing the play in June, then filming "My Boy Jack" this summer, then begin with filming Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. No plans for Dan are confirmed at this time beyond September 2007. |
